What is equine psychotherapy?
It doesn’t exactly roll off of the tongue, but it is an extremely effective method of therapy for people suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD and dual diagnosis.
In equine psychotherapy sessions, therapists and clients work with horses on the ground (no riding) in a natural setting. The goal is to provide an environment where people can find their own answers as they continue on their healing journey. Learn more.
Do you offer therapy that does not involve horses?
Yes. While equine therapy is a big part of our offerings at Four Directions, we offer traditional in-office therapy sessions as well as hybrid approach for clients who desire equine therapy as well as the occasional in-office session.
What is Eagala?
Eagala stands for Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. Eagala is the organization that provides the global standards for how to incorporate horses into therapy and other activities for mental health treatment and personal growth. Our services stay true to these standards, including the growth and learning opportunities we offer school groups and corporations.
Since 1999, Eagala (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) has provided the global standard for the incorporation of horses to address mental health and other personal growth needs. We practice according to Eagala methods, using the framework to benefit individuals, families, and corporations who seek our therapy and team-building services.
Do you offer psychiatry services?
Are your boarding facilities staffed?
Yes. There is someone available 24/7 to take care of feeding, cleaning, and turnouts.
Will my horses be part of your equine psychotherapy program?
If your horse has the temperament and you are willing to have it participate in the program, it is certainly a possibility. However, it is not a requirement that horses boarded with us be involved in our therapy programs.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept payments from most insurance companies.
